Under general supervision of the Public Safety Captain, performs all duties related to law enforcement, criminal investigation, airport safety and security, including, but not limited to, law enforcement duties as specified by the appropriate federal, state and local authorities for anti-terrorism security. Additional duties of aircraft rescue (ARFF) and emergency medical response. This position provides customer-service, communicates and assists all airport stakeholders, daily. Perform other duties as assigned.
This positions normal work schedule is 24 hours on, 48 hours off. Within the 24 hour period, officers work 8 hours patrol and spend 16 hours in the fire station, on call for emergency response to law enforcement, fire or medical emergencies.
Starting salary depends on years of service, and certifications held, plus state incentive pay. The position is eligible for performance raise at 6 months and annually thereafter. The LRAA is a CERS hazardous duty participant and this position is eligible for KLEFP incentive pay. The LRAA offers a generous benefit package available for review upon request, including a 50% match to deferred comp plans in addition to the CERS contribution.
